COMPANY PROFILE

A.D. Morrison & Associates, Ltd. operates two divisions, the First Nation Consulting Division and the First Nation Software Division.

The First Nation Consulting Division handles business and development plans, feasibility studies, needs assessments, financial management and co-management assignments, organizational analysis and design, strategic planning, training seminars for Chief, Council and Staff, as well as project management.

The First Nation Software Division develops custom software applications to meet the unique needs of First Nations.  Our products include a very popular welfare system for the Province of Ontario to deliver the "Ontario Works" program; an Accounting System with Payroll Module; a Membership Database that interfaces with the Indian Registry Service in Ottawa; a Power Authority Management and Invoicing System for communities that manage their own hydro plants; a Band Housing Loans and Rentals System; a Homemaker/Homecare Manager's Assistant; and a Program/Project Budgeting System.


COMPANY OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Software Division is to develop a complete set of software, hardware and training solutions for First Nations.  This objective will be accomplished by developing quality software products at competitive prices.  Every component of the system will be designed to operate as a standalone product that can also be integrated into a complete Band Management System.  The system can be gradually expanded by adding specific modules required to meet changing community needs.

MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP

Alan D. Morrison, B.A., M.B.A., C.A.F.M. - President and Owner

Alan personally handles most of the First Nation management consulting.  He has been working with First Nations since 1974.  Other responsibilities include overall management, marketing and strategic planning for the company.  His credentials include a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Western Ontario.  Alan also has the Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager designation from the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada.

Mark W. Korn - Programmer/Analyst, Technical Support

Mark graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Computer Programming and Analysis.  He has over 20 years of cumulative programming experience in several languages including: dBase, FoxPro 2.0/2.6, Clarion for DOS and Windows, Turbo Pascal, Visual Basic, and others.  He is the current maintainer of all software applications that were developed in-house.  He is also the senior customer/technical support contact for the entire product line.  In addition, Mark handles most of the hardware assembly, installations, service and troubleshooting, and networking under all current Windows based operating systems.

Jennifer Manley, B.A. - Office Manager, Social Services Administrator, Technical Support

Jennifer handles all administrative and accounting matters for the company.  She also has extensive experience with the government's Ontario Works program and provides telephone technical support for the GWA-OW Calculator For Windows software. 

Judy Knelsen - Customer & Technical Support Assistant

Judy provides telephone and online technical support for our hardware and the GWA-OW Calculator For Windows software.  Judy is the most recent addition to our team and possesses a Network Engineer diploma.

Shaun Pow, H.B.A. - Visual Basic Programmer

Shaun is a highly skilled programmer in a variety languages including FoxPro, Visual FoxPro, dBase, FoxBASE and others.  Shaun's specialty is Windows based applications using Visual Basic and he has extensive experience with accounting and payroll systems.  Along with his programming credentials, Shaun holds an Honours Degree in Business Administration from Laurier University.

Associates

Professional associates are used on a contract or per project basis as required.  All are selected on the basis of their professional credentials, experience and personal suitability for the assignment.
